Flor de Sal translates to “flower of salt.” These delicate salt crystals contain many minerals and trace elements that enhance the flavor of any dish. The unique texture of Flor de Sal is created by the perfect climatic conditions in southern Portugal and the interplay between sun and wind. Once a fine salt crust forms on the surface of the salt pans, this white Portuguese gold is still painstakingly hand-harvested and sun-dried by salt workers following ancient traditions. The fine salt is then refined with handpicked organic rosemary, creating a flavorful combination that is a must in traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
