WHITE TEA FROM THE AZORES
In the 1980s, the Agricultural Development Service of São Miguel (Azores, Portugal) planted 0.4 hectares of Camellia sinensis, specifically the “Assamica” variety — a type most commonly used to produce black tea.
In this small experimental plantation, no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used. Clara Estrela Rego began producing naturally dried white tea, with the whole leaves reflecting the unique terroir of the Azores — the oldest tea-growing region in Europe.
Thanks to the unique climatic conditions of the Azores, this region is ideally suited for tea cultivation. The Gulf Streamprovides mild temperatures and high humidity all year round — weather conditions that are even better than in many distant tea-producing countries. The low air pollution far out in the Atlantic makes this tea an exceptionally pure and natural product.
For a truly special white tea experience, you don’t need to rely on long imports from faraway Asia — this ecological premium tea comes directly from the Azores.

THE SPIRIT OF TEA
The spirit of tea is the spirit of peace,
and the culture of tea is the culture of hospitality.
Tea creates an atmosphere that fosters and nurtures good social relationships.
But the spirit of tea cannot be confined to the tea house — it is essential for the harmonious coexistence of humankind and nature.
